Co-founded by Prof. Torres-Company, MSc. Marcello Girardi, and Dr. Oskar B. Helgason, Iloomina AB is an integrated photonic start-up that spun off from Chalmers University of Technology.
Focused on ultra-low loss silicon nitride photonic integrated circuits,
the company relies on 10+ years of experience in prototyping
and manufacturing silicon nitride nanophotonic devices.
Dr. Víctor Torres-Company
Víctor Torres-Company us a co-founder of Iloomina and a professor at the Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, where he leads the research group Ultrafast Photonics.
Professor Torres-Company has co-authored more than 100 papers in leading optics journals and conferences and his expertise is in chip-scale frequency comb technology, coherent optical communications, and non-linear silicon photonics.
Marcello Girardi
Marcello received his B.Sc. in Physics from Trento University and M.Sc. in Material Science from Padua University.
He is currently pursuing his PhD at the Photonics Laboratory at Chalmers University, where he focuses on the fabrication of 3D integrated photonic devices in silicon nitride for optical communication.
Marcello has expertise in fabrication, design and testing of photonic integrated components and circuits. He co-founded Iloomina where he took the role of head process engineer.
Dr. Óskar Bjarki Helgason
Oskar received his B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Iceland and M.Sc. in Wireless, Photonics and Space Engineering from Chalmers University.
He graduated with a PhD in Microtechnology and Nanoscience from the Photonics Laboratory at Chalmers University, focusing on the dynamics of microresonator frequency combs.
Oskar has expertise in microcomb technology, device characterization and PIC designs. He is a co-founder of Iloomina AB.
